Job Description Employees in this job direct the delivery of professional nursing services through practical nurses, resident care aides, lower level supervisors on a ward or unit.The employee works within general methods and procedures, and exercises considerable independent judgment to adapt and apply the guidelines to specific situations.The work requires knowledge of the policies, procedures, and regulations of nursing programs, supervisory techniques, personnel policies, and procedures. Nurses in this role serve as the first-line nurse managers for an eight-hour shift, supervising, coordinating, and directing nursing activities of subordinate LPN's and RCA's. This registered nurse also provides patient care utilizing the nursing process, individualized treatment plans, and leading treatment rehabilitation groups. WRPH is a 24-hour operational facility and there are 3 work-shifts within the Nursing Department. Job Specifications: Position Description: Required Education and Experience emEducation/em Minimum Requirement-Possession of a diploma or associate's degree in nursing. emExperience/em Minimum Requirement-One year of experience as a Registered Nurse or in a State of Michigan Registered Nurse P11 Classification. Registered nurses (RNs) provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members.
