Provide psychiatric services, brief medical assessment, and medication management to adolescents and adults in our outpatient and residential Addiction programs.


  • Provide psychiatric support and management for clients in addiction services programs

  • Serve as liaison to our Medical Director for Part 822.4; Part 820 services (all Elements)

  • Provide consultation to our medical team related to quality improvement


Program Support (90%)

  • Provide clinical supervision to LPN’s and pharmacy technician’s

  • Provide psychiatric evaluation, med management and crisis intervention with an SUD and COD population

  • Provide support for the implementation of ancillary withdrawal services and other protocols

  • Prescribe, manage, and monitor psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat substance use and mental health diagnoses;

  • Monitor all medical system communication components

  • Attend case conferences as needed and serve as a consultant to other clinical staff;

  • Keep medical records and prepare psychiatric reports in compliance with agency, city, state, and federal requirements;

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Perform liaison activities for the Medical Director/Psychiatrist/s

Other (10%)

  • Knowledge of substance use disorders and medication assisted treatment

  • Ability to prescribe and monitor Suboxone, and other MAT treatments


Required Knowledge

  • PA with a current New York State Physician Assistant License and DEA registration

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical psychiatry

  • Must hold either a subspecialty board certification in addiction psychiatry from the American Board of Medical Specialties, an addiction certification from the American Society of Addiction Medicine, a certification by the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM), or hold a subspecialty board certification in Addiction Medicine from the American Osteopathic Association.

  • Must be self-insured

  • Excellent analytical and clinical skills

  • Proven ability to prepare detailed records and reports

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

  • Strong demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Experience with Chemical Addiction strongly preferred

  • Ability to prescribe Suboxone
