The hospital is recognized for clinical excellence in the fields of cardiology and cardiovascular surgery, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics and sports medicine, multi-organ transplantation, and the treatment of prostate, breast, and lung cancer. All bedside staff are cross-trained to provide for both pre- and post-anesthesia patient care. Due to the multitude of surgical procedures available, our nurses must be trained and proficient in the knowledge of service specific needs and appropriate care pathways. RNs applying should have significant critical care background, as the customers they care for will range from outpatients to those requiring admission into an intensive care unit. It is also understood that the RN will learn to use a collaborative approach to patient management with respect to anesthetic agents and adjuncts in this specialty practice area.
