We are seeking an exceptional candidate for the position of Nursing Unit Coordinator. This position is based out of the Marklund Philip Center in Bloomingdale, IL. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 2:00pm to 10:00pm.
Who We Are:
Marklund is a nonprofit organization that serves infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. With three residential locations – the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva, the Marklund Philip Center in Bloomingdale, and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin, it is currently home to nearly 174 clients. It is a Day School offering Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children and young adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum. It is a skilled nursing unit for medically fragile children and adults, and a developmental training center for adults who need assistance in managing their disabilities.

Oversees clinical and habilitation services for all residents of the Philip’s Center
Responsible for the quality assurance activities of the nursing department
Works with pharmacy on all medications, monthly paperwork for pharmacy
Coordinates and monitors client’s overall plan of care via primary nursing assignment
Prepares data collection for Exceptional Care surveys
Completes and presents internal investigations for IDPH to Director of Nursing
Facilitates and coordinates in-servicing on all nursing policies and procedures
Conducts trach training
Manages schedule of direct care staff with the organization’s scheduler
Schedules resident appointments; including transportation and staffing to complete the appointment
Pre-screen and tour applicants for employment
Answer phone on POD and greet visitors
Trains new employees

Qualifications for this position:
Education: RN or BSN or LPN
Training and/or experience: minimum of one year previous managerial experience desired. Knowledge of IDPA, IDPH, and DMH/DD regulations preferred. Previous experience with individuals who are developmentally disabled preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively; both verbally and in writing. Must have a strong ability to problem solve and work effectively with others.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification: Registered Nurse or BSN or LPN current Illinois.
Equipment, Machines, Tools: Computer, fax, copier, Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, general nursing equipment (thermometer, feeding pump, etc).
