Erickson Living Employee Health Nurse Practitioner -- Part Time in Ashburn, Virginia
Ashby Ponds, a growing CCRC in Ashburn, VA, is seeking a talented Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive health care and wellness education for our employee population. The employee health Nurse Practitioner will provide acute care, preventive care, workers' compensation care and other employee health services to our valuable employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provides total nursing care to patients under the direction of a physician.
Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination.
Administers or orders diagnostic test, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, laboratory tests, and interprets test results for deviation from normal.
Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
Develops and implements management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.
Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
Administers prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of Physician.
Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs.
Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition.
Discusses case with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan.
Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by Physician.
Refers patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.
Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regiments, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
Takes after hours calls, triages and documents interaction with residents.
Attends required meetings and participants in committees as requested.
Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
Maintains patient confidentiality.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• Requires a bachelor's degree
• 2 - 4 years of clinical experience.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
