Position Description :

General Summary Statement

Our Nursing Department has achieved Magnet® recognition. Our Nursing Assistants provide patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, with duties that support the operation of the nursing unit. The Unit Coordinator is responsible for general office management, clerical and receptionist duties; facilitating order entry and processing; coordinating administrative support activities on the nursing unit.

Our West Wing I Med/Surg Unit houses 22 beds primarily focusing on stroke and dialysis patients. We are Joint Commission Certified as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center. The unit is staffed by RNs, Nursing Assistants and Unit Coordinators and is supported by a management team of Charge Nurses, Clinical Manager and Director. The unit offers a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to re-prioritize throughout the day. Minimum Requirements :

Education Training and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent. Training and/or experience at an acute care facility or student nurse with hospital based clinical experience. Knowledge of medical terminology. Previous secretarial skills preferred. Training and/or experience at an acute care facility or student nurse with hospital based clinical experience. Computer skills required: keyboard, mouse use. Ability to complete data entry on clinical documentation screens. Ability to use email, and internet. Ability to successfully complete on the job training for CCH computer programs. Ability to speak, read, write and understands English.

Licensure/Certification

CPR certification required. Certified Nursing Assistant desired, but not required.
