JOB REQUIREMENTS: JTB515P1006 1.Understand and demonstrates through practice, the treatment guidelines specified in DHS 63 (Community Support Programs for Chronically Mentally Ill Persons). 2.Administers psychotropic and/or other prescribed medication under the direction of the attending psychiatrist or other physician.To include:Intramuscular (IM), Subcutaneous (SQ), topical, and oral medications. 3.Assists clients in medication management, including:medication administration, medication set up, the administration of oral, topical, Intramuscular (IM) injections, eye drops, ear drops. 4.Assesses, reports and documents client's response to the medication and monitors side effects as observed during client interaction. 5.Collaborates effectively with internal and external systems to assist individuals served in achieving their treatment and recovery goals. 6.Provides comprehensive assessment, re-assessment, care planning, direct nursing care interventions, and termination of care within program guidelines and professional practices. 7.Accurately documents services maintaining a thorough case file or client record following program policies and procedures within stated guidelines and timeframes. 8.Provide consultation and training to program staff regarding health related issues. 9.Notify the case manager, appropriate program supervisor of any psychiatric symptoms or behavior change that may require intervention and any health related documentation for the client record. 10.Develop strategies for providing patient education and medication monitoring. 11.Monitors and reports medication errors to appropriate person(s) as deemed necessary. 12.Reviews client related accident, sickness, and incident reports as needed, to ensure proper follow-up according to agency procedures. 13.Obtains and monitors pharmaceutical drug samples under the direction of the attending psychiatrists. 14.Ensures safe storage of clients' medications, according to State regulations. 15.Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service training seminars and conferences as required. 16.Providing Preceptorship supervision for student interns. 17.Providing quarterly medically related topics in group settings for individuals that attend the Wellness Recovery Program. 18.Crossed trained to all program areas, and able to cover if departmental needs deem necessary It is the policy of the Milwaukee Center For Independence as an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer to recruit, hire and promote for all job classifications without regard to race, age, creed, color, disability, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, military service membership, use of lawful products, pregnancy or childbirth, genetic testing, honesty testing, ancestry, or arrest or conviction record.
