Provide care for children (newborn to young adult) who require intensive care. Includes medical and surgical patients--including: transplant (solid organ, blood and marrow, auto-islet), neurology, neurosurgery, pulmonary and ENT, hematology and oncology, orthopedic, and trauma. Provide care to pediatric patients who require close observation and monitoring. Performs advanced monitoring using current technology. Manage complex medication and infusion therapies. Care for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit. Demonstrate ability to safely and accurately operate unit equipment. Focus on Patient and Family Centered Care. Bed capacity: 12. Work closely with staff in 12-bed pediatric CV-ICU located on same floor.
Physical demands: Sitting, standing, walking, lifting-max 35lbs, push/pull-max. 35 lbs, balance, stooping/crouching, grasping, writing, finger dexterity/keyboarding, reaching, color vision, operate machinery, physical presence at work.
Mental Demands: Frequent people contact, irregular work schedule, supervisory skills, detailed work, frequent interruptions, decision making skills, concentration, ability to work independent, multiple concurrent tasks, frequent deadlines, organizational skills, ability to collaborate with others, express ideas orally, remember and apply information, understand/follow basic instruction
Current MN RN license and BLS for healthcare providers. Must have at least one year of current RN experience in a pediatric ICU OR a 300-320 hour paid internship with Fairview Health Services.
BSN or higher preferred
