This position is responsible for providing positive leadership for the planning, development and evaluation of health care and related services offered to residents and clients throughout Ecumen. The Nurse Consultant assists sites to provide the best possible care to those we serve. Essential duties and responsibilities include:
Responsible to provide guidance to continually improve on Ecumen standards of clinical care and quality.
Act as Ecumen champion for Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI).
Act as Subject Matter Expert regarding Ecumen’s standard for delivering services to clients with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Serve as a clinical resource, support person and contact for Ecumen business lines.
Regularly visit assigned communities to educate employees, audit clinical practices to ensure nursing standards of practice are being followed and to measure client satisfaction.
Provide resources, tools, and education to health care professionals to help build strong leaders.
Ensure that Ecumen is providing high quality care to clients by monitoring quality indicators and other quality measures as determined by assigned communities.
Ensure that Ecumen’s Clinical care practices and policies are up to date and that resources are made readily available to communities.
Assist Ecumen communities in achieving their financial targets and goals, including ensuring that services are accurately documented and billed.
Serve as a mentor to the Clinical Leaders in communities.
Participate in the hiring and selection process for Clinical Leaders within Ecumen.
Educate community health care employees on best practices for quality assurance, performance improvement and regulatory changes.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: Two or more years of experience in senior healthcare
License/Certification: Minnesota Registered Nurse; ability to obtain license in assigned states. Must keep license current and in good standing
Current valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance
Ability to communicate effectively
Working knowledge of Federal and State Regulations related across healthcare delivery models within senior services
Working knowledge of quality indicators and measures across healthcare delivery models within senior services
Budget management experience
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
Education: Master's Degree
Experience: Five or more years in senior healthcare
Prior leadership experience at various senior healthcare venues
Experience in home care and/or hospice; understanding of state, federal and other insurance reimbursement programs
Multi-site leadership and/or new development/setup experience
