Responsibilities and Qualifications
The Occupational Health Nurse is a critical job that requires working closely with all co-workers. Processing new co-workers for a health assessment at hire, which includes pre-employment drug testing, health medical history, lab work, chest x-ray if indicated, and immunization status. To promote safety and well being of not only the staff but the patients who are being cared for by our co-workers, administers vaccinations to co-workers as indicated. Administers and compiles records of all co-worker, volunteers annual TB Screening, along with any physician or student who requests a TB Screen. Promotes and administers Annual Influenza vaccines to all co-workers, students and physicians working in the facility. Compiles annual and monthly reports and presents these reports to appropriate committees in order to assist these committees to comply with requirements of Joint Commission, The Arkansas Department of Health and other government agencies. Administers the worker's compensation program following Arkansas Worker's Compensation Commission rules and regulations. Workers closely with physicians and co-workers following on the job injuries to provide quality care and follow up to injured workers. Works with co-workers and the wellness committee to educate co-workers about wellness and living healthier lifestyles. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Education: Registered Nurse
Licensure: Current Arkansas Registered Nurse License
Experience: Must have knowledge and skills in assessment of adult health. Previous work relating to workers compensation, immunization requirements of adults, knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations a requirement or willing to seek further education in the required area s. Basic knowledge of computers to enter data and design reports required. Customer Service skills necessary to relate to co-workers at all levels within the Medical Center. Ability to make formal presentations desired.
