JOB REQUIREMENTS: The NACI is responsible for the education, training and growth of enrolled students. This position develops and coordinates validation of the competencies of all students for each class to ensure successful completion of courses and tests. Promotes excellence of proper care and treatment of residents/patients that meets or exceeds the company's expections for a result of a smooth transition into the role of a Nursing Assistant. Responsible for mentoring and identifying training needs while providing support to all students. Additionally, there is a mentoirng component to ensure training assimilation and support. Adheres to federal and state regulations, and follows all Extendicare policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1.Assesses the learning needs of the students through direct observation, formal learning assessments and indirectly through review of quality improvement and/or program evaluation. 2.Plans, conducts, monitors and tracks training to meet the state's training requirements. 3.Coordinates and participates in the center orientations and multi-center orientaions where applicable of all students who successfully pass class. Provides modules during orientation to all students using the appropriate materials under the direction and oversight of the NACI Supervisor and Area Director of Clinical Operations (ADCO). 4.Plans, schedules and implements lessons for each class (per state requirements) under the direction and oversight of the NACI Supervisor and ADCO. 5.Coordinates, implements and maintains organized student files/records for all students in each class. 6.Recruits and markets students as requested. 7.Attends state mandatory meetings. 8.Maintains mandatory credentials per state and federal regulations. 9.Prepares supplementary education materials as required. 10.Assists in tracking, evaluating, and measuring the impact of training programs and learning activities on students.. 11.Treats all residents/patients, visitors and staff with courtesy. 12.Attends and participates in in-service training, Quality Performance Improvement ("QPI") committees and other meetings as scheduled and directed. 13.Continuously communicates with NHA, DON and other team members. 14.Safety 1.Knows and follows health center rules. 2.Demonstrates proper use of equipment. Reports equipment needs or repairs. 3.Follows health center smoking policies. 4.Reports and documents any incidents or accidents of residents, staff or visitors to the appropriate personnel- If witnessed. 5.Performs duties, which may include transportation of residents, as assigned in the Health Center Disaster Plan. 6.Uses required protective equipment. 7.Follows infection control standards, policies and procedures. 8.Follows Health Center dress and hygiene policies. 9. Reports all hazardous conditions/equipment and initiates action to correct the issue and reports to appropriate department head. 1.Resident Rights 1.Incorporates Resident Rights in daily job performance. Helps residents exercise and/or protect their rights. 2.Reports resident complaints to management team. 3.Maintains confidentiality of resident information. Follows and adheres to policies and procedures implementing HIPAA requirements for the privacy and security of protected health information. 2.Uses and/or discloses only minimum amount of Protected Health Information necessary to complete assigned tasks. 3.Reports all suspected violation of company's HIPAA policies or procedures to Health Center Privacy Designee and to the Milwaukee Corporate Compliance Officer or representative. EOE M/W/Vet/Disabled ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Minimum of three years training experience with preferrably in a long-term care setting. Prior role must have been in long-term care within the past five years. Experience teaching adult learners and/or completion of a train-the-trainer course. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Demon trable clinical competency and current nursing skills. Strong oral/presentation, written communication skills and basic computer skills. Ability to work with diverse groups of people: residents, families, community members, other staff and volunteers. Meet all health requirements imposed by law.
