The Role: Xylem seeks to hire an Occupational Nurse. The occupational nurse directs and manages the nursing components of the Occupational Medicine Program. Assists in developing protocols. Ensures the appropriate documentation, recording, and reporting of all work-related illnesses and injuries for employees of the company. Maintains the computer-based tracking system and compiles required reports and records. Coordinates cases between health care providers and the contract company.
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities :
First aid care to injured employees; determination of if employee should be sent to doctor, follow up may involve calls to employees home.
Work Comp case management including managing incidents and measurements module of Gensuite.
Manage and lead emergency response team, maintains first aid, and response supplies including monthly inspections of AED and first aid kits.
Work with supervisors and treating doctors towards a no loss workday goal
Support HR in Short Term disability, RTW exams, pre-employment physicals and drug screens and personal employee medical conditions as needed.
Coordinate employee education and wellness programs including but not limited to: healthy lifestyle, heart health, cancer screening, health fairs, monthly or quarterly lunch and learns.
Manage respirator, hearing conservation, safety shoes and safety glasses, and BBP programs including training.
Generate and submit any business required reports.
Maintain employee medical records in compliance with HIPPA standards and OSHA compliance -Ergonomics resource/expert during accident investigations.
Site liaison to implement timely and safe return to work.
Facilitate and coordinate company’s restricted duty program.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
RN or LPN in accredited school – licensed in IL
Certified occupation health nurse
Manufacturing environment experience
Case management experience
5+ years’ experience
Experience in a union environment
Must be a safety advocate
