Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides education, training, and support to clinical staff on utilization of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and participates in performance assessment and improvement initiatives of clinical informatics systems.


  • Organizes training programs and provides training of EMR end users based upon end user and organizational needs. Develops and delivers population specific learning, and evaluates training outcomes. Conducts ongoing training needs assessments of organization. Designs and delivers training materials to educate users about information technologies.

  • Participates in performance assessment and improvement initiatives on the identification, design, testing, and evaluation of clinical informatics applications.

  • Provides support to end users by participating in a continuous support plan of system training related issues for clinical staff.

  • Tracks issues and works to improve processes, efficiency and compliance of electronic documentation standards.

  • Act as a primary resource for application analysts relative to EMR education and clinical workflow/process and as a resource for leader, associate and department super user.

  • Leads super user teams at sites, providing ongoing education/updates related to system updates, upgrades and workflow changes and enhancements.

  • Identifies risk areas in documentation and partners with site and department leaders to correct.

  • Supports site and department leaders with navigation of the EMR during regulatory surveys.



  • Bachelor's Level Degree

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) or other clinical discipline, education or healthcare related field required by hire date or job transfer date Comparable training experience accepted in lieu of education

Work Experience:

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a healthcare setting required.
