This nursing position is a supervisory nursing position in the county health department clinic. This individual will be responsible for all supervisory duties including, but not limited to, hiring and selection, developing performance plans, conducting performance appraisals, planning and directing their work, approving leave, and taking disciplinary action as appropriate. This position requires a strong working knowledge of budgeting and client service data management. This position is also responsible for providing a range of nursing services. The duties and responsibilities of the positions include:

Oversees clinic operations, including daily clinical activities, clinic and provider schedules, equipment maintenance, and clinic supplies inventory. Ensures that clinic programs meet all state requirements, including complying with reporting requirements and coordinating site visits and program audits. Administers services and treatments under medical direction, following written protocols and procedures of the CHD. Assures standardization of medical record documentation.

Serves as contact epidemiological nurse and TB nurse. Coordinates investigations/surveillance reports from local physicians and hospital as well as other private providers. Oversees submission of data to state health office and complies with communicable disease reporting requirements and TB reporting, participates in strategic planning and other accreditation activities, including implementation of QI projects.

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Must be licensed at a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida. At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
