Additional Job Details: Full-Time, Rotating, 36 hours per week
The Certified Nursing Assistant will assist with basic patient care activities.
Assists with procedures ordered by physician and supervised by a Registered Nurse (RN).
Assists patients with tending to personal care, activities of daily living and transfers/transport.
Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
Assists with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.
Provides physical and emotional comfort, care and safety for patients.
Assist patient in caring for daily hygienic needs, such as bathing, mouth and teeth care, and bowel and bladder habits.
Assist with delivery/retrieval of trays; prepares patients for meals.
Assist with feeding and providing fluids to designated patients.
Assist with patient ambulation, transporting or transferring patient using wheelchair or wheeled stretchers, and with moving and positioning patients.
Accurately collect and record patient's temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, height, and weight.
Adhere to principles of aseptic technique, isolation guidelines and universal precautions.
Accurately measure and record oral intake and output.
Collect routine specimens.
Keep patient's rooms aesthetically pleasing and comfortable.
Understands and contributes to the interdependent nature of patient care delivery and communicates concerns to the supervising registered nurse.
Maintains professional demeanor and respects confidentiality of information related to allied health care workers.
Must possess the appropriate knowledge and skill to work in an environment where there is a potential of contact with communicable diseases, odors, fumes, and other biohazards.
Understands the majority of departments utilize rotating shifts.
All CNAs can be expected to work during hours other than day shift to meet patient care needs. Shifts include weekends and holidays.
Possesses the ability to communicate orally and in written form; must be willing/able to adapt method to effectively communicate with patients, family, and other members of the health care team.
Never abuses or takes advantage of sick time or personal days.
BLS Provider obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Certified Nurse Aide credentialed from the Idaho Nurse Aide Registry obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
High school diploma or equivalent required
Must have completed a Board approved training program based on standard approved curriculum. Certificate of completion required prior to employment
