Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides direct nursing care to patients receiving intravenous (IV) therapy in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

  • Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

  • Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.

  • Processes unscheduled infusions using established guidelines associated with length of infusion and availability of infusion chair.

  • Responsible for recruitment for the growth of the department.

Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Certification specializing in Chemotherapy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • One or more of the following:

  • Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Florida Department of Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Department of Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • Diploma

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required ASN or BSN preferred

Work Experience:

  • 1+ years experience required.
