Where Care Meets Career.Nursing Supervisor ResponsibilitiesThe Nursing Supervisor (Director of Nursing, Nursing Director, Director of Professional Services, Service Director, Director of Clinical Services) is responsible for the supervision of professional, direct ancillary services and personnel who provide direct client care. Primary duties include hiring, assigning, staff development, employee skills validation and evaluations; conducting initial Home Conferences visits, Supervisory visits, and coordinating/implementing the client's Plan of Care.Supervision of StaffDirectly and indirectly, or through qualified subordinates, supervising professional, direct ancillary services and all personnel who provide direct in-home client care (RN, LPN, CAN, HHA, CHHA, PCA, and PT, OT, PTA, OTA, MSW)Ensuring that employees perform job duties appropriate to job descriptionsPerforming competency and skills evaluations on employees who provide direct client careHiring, orienting, assisting with recruitment and evaluating new employees, and assigning duties to all (RN, LPN, HHA, and PT, OT, PTA, OTA, MSW) providing direct client careIdentifying, planning, and implementing staff development for direct care employees such as orientations, in-services, continuing education, and competency/skills evaluationsDetermining and documenting whether the home health aide services are being delivered in an acceptable manner consistent with policies / procedures and customer satisfaction.Documenting actions taken when services are unacceptable.Teaching or supervising the teaching of household members who are responsible for assisting the client with his/her nursing or personal care needsClinicalAssuring the initial Home Conference and subsequent visits for assessments, planning, delivery, and evaluation of client care, is performed by a registered nurse.Documenting an initial assessment of the client's needs to carry out the Plan of Treatment / Care PlanMaintaining client confidentialityDocumenting verbal physician orders in the Client RecordDeveloping, initiating, implementing and evaluating client plans of careInforming the physician and all assigned employees of changes in the client's medical or mental condition and needsEvaluation of services provided by contractorsPreparing, coordinating, and submitting clinical and progress note documentation on delivered services within required time framesProviding case management and coordinating services with insurance companies and community agenciesProviding information on community resources to clients and familiesPerforming or supervising skilled nursing services on clients as ordered by physicianFunctioning within the scope of practice as defined by the s...
