Orthopaedic Associates of Michigan Phone Triage Nurse in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Orthopaedic Associates of Michigan is looking for a Phone Triage Nurse to answer urgent patient calls for our orthopaedic office. This individual will be responsible for triaging patient calls, scheduling same day appointments, and referring patients to the appropriate internal provider for care. Qualified candidates will have prior experience in an Urgent Care setting and/or Orthopaedic experience. This individual must have their RN degree and at least 4 years of experience. uThis is a part-time, second shift position with three 8 hour shifts per week for a total of 24 hours per week./u ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESulliWorks under the direction of the physician and assists the Physician’s Assistant to facilitate care and assures that patient's needs are met./liliTelephone Triage – collects appropriate information to determine need, obtains chief complaint, updates the patients’ medical history into their chart, and makes appointment for same day care or refers the patient to urgent care for emergent care./liliCommunicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient / family advocate./li/ulREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSulliHas successfully completed an accredited RN program and is licensed by the state./liliHas successfully completed a competency-based orientation program and CPR certification or acquisition within 90 days of employment is required./li/ul uSpecific skills, knowledge and abilities:/uulliTime management and organizational skills/liliDemonstrates regular attendance and is prompt when reporting to work or attending scheduled meetings/liliWorking knowledge of computers and their applications/liliHave a courteous, pleasant manner.
