The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for the delivery of optimum quality care to patient while in the perioperative areas of Crosstown Surgery Center. GENERAL DUTIES Knows and functions within the assigned perioperative area by completing duties and tasks assigned by a supervisor. Stock blanket warmer, transport carts/chairs to OR areas Assist with room turnover, empties linen/garbage daily. Independently follows all cleaning checklists thoroughly and appropriately. Initiates cleaning and restocking of all work areas. Performs activities in a timely manner to not cause delays or inconvenience with the department. Seeks assistance with assignments as needed. Meets goals set during previous evaluation within the time frame designated. Floats readily between all areas providing help as needed. Assists with picking supplies for surgical cases (based on preference card). Check scrub sink area and clean. Coordinate daily checklist (freezer temp, eyewash station) Maintain accurate inventory levels (PAR levels) for OR / Pre&Post / Anes. Accurate and reliable receiving and replenishment of items independently Rotate stock, remove and replace damaged and expired items Float readily between all areas providing help as needed. PLANNING Assists in the preparation of the surgical environment. Assist in the cleaning of the OR suite as needed. Assists in the cleaning and maintenance of supplies and equipment. Assure accuracy of labeling of supplies Coordinates annual inventory count in conjunction with Purchasing Specialist Organize and receive supplies and maintenance of inventory IMPLEMENTATION Assist the RN in the safe transfer of the patient from the OR table, from surgery cart, from wheelchair, to any other appropriate patient conveyance. Cleans and maintains remote inventory. Picks supplies for surgical cases (based on preference card). Answers telephones and relays messages. Couriers messages as appropriate. Relates patient or family inquiries to appropriate persons. Initiate cleaning and restocking of all work areas, puts supplies away Perform activities in a timely manner to not cause delays or inconvenience with any department. Seeks assistance with assignments as needed. Meet goals set during previous evaluation within the time frame designated.
