POSITION SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Unit Director and/or Nursing Supervisor, the Charge RN coordinates & supervises the patient care team on an assigned unit. The Charge Nurse (CN) is responsible for: daily operation of the unit (s), supervision & assignment of all patient care team members. The CN assesses the overall needs of the unit related to patient acuity & staffing and coordinates with the unit director & nursing supervisor. The CN collaborates with the Nursing Supervisor & Unit director for participation in quality improvement, assists with the assessment of educational opportunities, and provides hands-on patient care coaching. The CN isresponsible to meet all, but not to perform on a daily basis, job duties as outlined in their respective unit Registered Nurse job description, when required by patient or unit needs, as well as those listed in this job description. Experience: 3 years as a Registered Nurse, minimum of 1 year experience as a Staff Nurse in related area. 3 years experience as a staff nurse preferred. Must be able to work NIGHTS. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, current license in GA. Completion of or actively pursuing BSN degree preferred. Special Qualifications: Clinical Mastery in current Nursing field as evidenced by performance evaluations; demonstrates exceptional communication & organizational skills.
