Nurse Supervisor Req #: 30084010 Category: Leadership (Mgr and above) Facility: Beaumont Health Post Acute Department: Skilled Nursing Services Schedule: Casual/Contingent Shift: Midnights Job Details:Job Summary:Under direction and supervision of the Director, Nursing or designee, the Off-Shift Nursing Supervisor is responsible for comprehensive nursing care of residents in the facility and for the supervision of personnel on the afternoon, midnight and weekend shifts.Primary Job Duties:1. Ensures adequate nursing staff for the afternoon, midnight or weekend shifts and the oncoming shifts throughout the facility.2. Facilitates staff communication and teamwork through daily huddles and bi-monthly meetings as well as ensuring exchange of essential information between shifts.3. Assists and directs nursing personnel in delivering quality nursing care in accordance with Federal, State and corporate requirements as well as policies and procedures.4. Communicates to staff individual goals and action plans facilitating corporate and unit goals. Evaluates staff performance and gives in servicing and corrective action when needed.5. Assists and directs nursing personnel in problem-solving including resident change in condition as well as resident family inquires or concerns with an action taken. Uses investigative process to systematically analyze problems to find the root cause.6. Assess appropriately and makes fact based decisions when in crisis situations.7. Identifies problems during daily rounds and ensures follow-up through communication with and between other departments and oncoming shift.8. Monitors equipment cleaning for nursing department according to cleaning schedule.9. Reviews newly admitted and readmitted resident's records for accuracy and content.10. Assists in maintaining clinical quality of care as defined by clinical standards of practice, state and federal guidelines and facility policies and procedures.11. Handles residents or visitor concerns regarding services.12. Immediately notifies DON/Administrator of any possible abuse or neglect and provides immediate safety for resident.Minimum Job Qualifications:Education:Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (RN); BSN preferredExperience: 3 years of supervisory experienceLicensure: Current RN license in State of MichiganSkills Abilities:*Organizational Skills*Communication Skills*Nursing Skills*Leadership SkillsBeaumont Health is an equal opportunity employer.
