Oversees and manages the role of the Clinical Nurse Specialists, Education Specialists and department secretary and others as directed. Oversee the assessment of learning needs for all levels of nursing and provides educational opportunities to address the needs. The Director, Nursing Education Research, Magnet Program Director is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, monitoring and overseeing the overall Magnet Recognition Program . Is responsible for submitting applications, interim monitoring reports and Magnet documents based on the Magnet Program Office criteria. Develops and implements organizational strategies and infrastructure to support clinical quality, operational effectiveness and shared leadership. Acts as a liaison with all departments within the organization to promote nursing excellence and to support Magnet philosophy.Primary Job Duties:1. The three fundamental practices of RROHC include: developing a relationship with patients and families to partner in achieving their goals in hospitalization; utilizing problem solving and critical thinking incorporated on the part of the healthcare team to help patients reach their goals; and trans-disciplinary teamwork led by the staff RN to coordinate the achievement of these goals. RROHC is a model of patient care delivery that invites patients and their families, through the relationships nursing staff builds with them, to actively participate in their care decisions.3. Coordinates and plans orientation (RN,NA,CA), continuing education (in-services, computer based modules, printed materials, CE credits), skills validation and professional development activities (Professional Ladder, GN Residency program, Specialty Certification, Leadership Development classes, Nursing Excellence in Practice) and mandatory educational requirements (e.g. BLS, Joint Commission, CMS).h.
