Carolinas HealthCare System’s Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join the newly established Thoracic Surgery Division. Incumbent will treat patients within a clinic setting, manage inpatient post-operative care and perform surgical first assist.
Additional Job Details Include:
• Partner with a team of 6 Physicians, 1 Advanced Care Practitioner and 6 Support Staff
• Outpatient clinic appointments: new patient work ups, established post-opp visits – including 6 month follow-ups for up to two years
• Clinical patient calls/triage
• Inpatient post-operative care
• Surgical First Assist
• Program development with collaborating physician
• Expand surgery group from 750 WRVU’s to 2000 WRVU’s to meet 5- Year Growth Plan
• Day shift Monday-Friday. No call.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Must have or be eligible for a DEA license. Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state one works. Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in NC required. BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice. Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and concentrate.
