Job Code: 08625-6439 Full-time Days (rotating weekends) Must smile and make eye contact. The Education Coordinator for Emergency Department performs management, administration, and coordination of departmental educational program. Maintains and promotes continued staff competency in the provision of patient care to the infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population. Assessment of quality education utilizing the nursing process, adherence to employee rights, selection of technology, and evaluation of resources. Develops and implements educational program based on current practice and facility standards of care and practice, on assessment of Quality Improvement needs, Infection Control, Patient Safety, and Human Resources. Utilizes effective communication skills and interacts with others in a courteous manner. Assures educational opportunities, participates on committees, and maintains activities of the department for trends that identify needs for improvement. Maintains cost-effectiveness. Daily use of analytical decision-making skills. Participates in Performance Improvement activities to assure continuous Quality Improvement. Maintains cultural and diversity awareness when dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers, and all other customers. Promotes a supportive, teamwork-oriented environment. Fulfills departmental responsibilities with the long-range plan, mission, vision and values of CMC. Promotes and maintains patient safety standards. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a current Georgia RN license, Bachelors Degree preferred. Clinical competency to direct staff in care of emergency medicince patients, good public relation skills, excellent instructional, communication, and writing/computer skills. Current Basic Healthcare Provider (BLS) Certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification required within 90 days of hire or promotion. within 1 year of meeting certification requirements or promotion. Prior experience in Emergency Care Services, with demonstrated leadership and clinical skills. Previous management or teaching experience (educator, preceptor, mentor) preferred.
