The West Ann Arbor Health Center – Parkland Plaza is the newest Ambulatory Care facility dedicated to providing high quality health care services for adults and children. The brand new 2-story facility is located 380 Parkland Plaza in Ann Arbor. We are actively seeking compassionate, enthusiastic, and patient-oriented individuals who will share in the goal of creating the ideal experience for our patients, families and employees.
Anticipated opening of the new West Ann Arbor Health Center – Parkland Plaza is November 2017.
Provide nursing care and patient education as assigned to a diverse patient population in the Metabolism, Endocrinology and Diabetes (MEND) clinics and the Endocrine Testing Unit. Participate as a member of the collaborative health care team, working closely with patients and their families.
Provide telephone triage and management, patient education, direct patient care with assessment, and documentation. Assist with patient flow as appropriate.
Provide functional supervision to assistive personnel.

This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C (B INC).
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level E.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position.

Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Michigan.
A minimum of three (3) years of RN experience.
Experience with in the last year providing nursing triage, telephone nursing care, clinical care and education.
Experience, within the last year, in a clinic or doctor’s office setting to adult patients whose primary diagnosis is Endocrine in nature including patients who have Diabetes Mellitus.
Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE)
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills including a positive attitude and conflict management skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks, collaboratively problem-solve and delegate.
Demonstrated ability to effectively work independently as well as within a team.
Demonstrated competence with IV insertions and infusions.

Hours: 40 hours per week

(This RN will be expected to train and work at the Domino's Farms MEND Clinic as needed.)
Note: All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
West Ann Arbor Health Center- Parkland Plaza Transfer Start Dates
This confirms the agreement reached between the University of Michigan, the University of Michigan Professional Nurse Council (UMPNC) and the Michigan Nurses Association (MNA) concerning the implementation of staggered transfer dates for hires into the West Ann Arbor Health Center- Parkland Plaza, that occur through and including November 7, 2017.
Upon an offer of a position, the transfer date will be communicated and the transfer date will also be clearly identified within the letter of transfer. The individually negotiated transfer date may be past the 30 days per Paragraph 287 language, but the transfer will not occur at a date later than November 7, 2017. While the transfer date indicates the absolute transfer date for the employee, it is understood that the employee may be released to the accepting unit sooner, whichever is feasible by mutual agreement.
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
